Standard Operational Guidelines

Voting Rules & Participation Protocol

To ensure public polls are accurate, fair, and transparent without mandating user accounts, ZoVote adheres to structured voting schedules and eligibility standards.

1. Once Only

One voting submission per voter for the entire lifetime of the poll. Once your vote is cast, you cannot modify it or submit additional ballots.

2. Daily Once

One voting submission per calendar day. The voting period resets promptly at midnight (00:00:00) in the configured platform timezone (Asia/Kolkata IST), not on a rolling 24-hour cycle.

3. Weekly Once (Monday Reset)

One voting submission per calendar week. Resets every Monday at 00:00 IST sharp. A vote submitted on Sunday night resets just hours later when Monday starts.

4. Single vs Multiple Choice

In Single Choice, voters select exactly 1 option. In Multiple Choice, voters can select up to the administrator-configured limit. Each selected option receives 1 vote, while the entire action counts as 1 voter submission.

Results Visibility Modes

Always Visible: Live results, vote counts, and percentages are accessible before and after voting.
Visible After Voting: Results are hidden until you submit your ballot (or until the poll officially ends). This eliminates bandwagon bias.
Visible Only After Poll Ends: Results remain strictly confidential on the server until the poll reaches its scheduled end datetime.
