Data Minimalization & Privacy First

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 26, 2026

1. Core Privacy Philosophy

ZoVote is designed specifically so that general visitors can participate in public polls without logging in, signing up, or providing identifying credentials such as real names, email addresses, phone numbers, or social media logins.

2. Voter Privacy & Anti-Abuse Protection

To prevent duplicate submissions and enforce fair voting periods (such as once-only, daily, or weekly limits), our servers use privacy-preserving automated safeguards. We never collect or store personally identifiable credentials, and personal information is never exposed or published.

3. Retention & Data Lifecycle

Ballot submissions are recorded solely to compute accurate, real-time poll results and enforce participation boundaries. When polls conclude or are archived, aggregate statistical results are preserved while operational records are expired according to standard data retention practices.

4. Fair Participation on Shared Networks

Our platform balances anti-abuse mitigation with fair access for voters connecting from shared public networks, such as campuses, workplaces, and mobile networks.

5. Functional Cookies & Privacy Safeguards

We use strictly necessary functional tokens and cookies to maintain balloting integrity and prevent duplicate voting across sessions. We do not store raw IP addresses or sell personal voting preferences.

6. Third-Party Advertising & Google AdSense

When advertising is enabled on ZoVote, we partner with third-party vendors, including Google AdSense, to serve advertisements.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites across the internet.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by visiting www.aboutads.info.
